There are many study habits for students, but one of the first things you can do to improve study habits for students is to be clear about your goals.

Write them down.
And do things needed to complete it. Make sure to set a reward for you so that you get motivated to do it.

How will a goal-setting improve study habits?
For one thing that it relieves inner struggle. As now you know what to do to reach your goals and you remain focused on your goals. It helps your mind to concentrate on your goals.
1. Make a checklist to improve your study skill
After setting your goals, another good study habit is to set up a checklist that works for you. This does two things - First, if you set up the list yourself, no one will tell you to “do your homework”.
You’ve taken the initiative and can follow through with less internal (your mind) and external (parent, tutor, teacher) friction. Second, as you complete your assignments, the list provides “visual” feedback that you are making progress. You see that completion is associated with rewards.
Using lists is not just a great study tip- if you use them in other areas of your life, you will feel better about yourself as you learn the skills of accountability and time management.
2. Set goals to improve study habits
Set goals and use lists to combine to make one of the best good study tips. Don't start without a goal or destination from the beginning. Set a specific time as your study time, or a specific goal for the session, and tell yourself about your reward that you will get at the end of the session. An example would be “after I complete my study, I will be free to play with my grandmother. Don’t set yourself at internal tension by saying "I’m stuck here again doing these stupid math problems."
3. Do it when you're fresh
Do you put your homework to do after dinner, video games, and checking text messages? Ever realized how easy it is to get lazy just when its time to do assignments?
If you begin the habit of doing studies in the morning or early in the day, you’ll find it is much easier to complete. First, you are likely to have the energy to do the mental heavy lifting, and second, it is more motivating to have a study break just ahead of you rather than two hours ago.

5. Do the challenging part first or at least early in the session.
You can actually make it easier on yourself by jumping into your most challenging studies first, or at least early in the session. Your mind is fresh and it is more productive to view the hardest subjects at first. Starting early on tough subjects allows you to complete it on less time. Notice how you feel after you do that.6. Did your mom mention this study skill?
Two good study tips are often overlooked or placed as footnotes on the last page of study manuals. Exercise your body and feed your brain! O.K. I’ve said it.
Now I hope you’ll do it! The effects of exercise and diet are cumulative and very important. Get some exercise, and make sure you’re not hungry or dehydrated during your study session. Your brain needs a constant stream of nutrients, and doesn’t have a large storage area…so keep those nutrients coming. Your stress levels will go down and your grades will go up!

7. Time Management Strategies
Once you begin the study period, don’t multitask! Doing two things at once means you will do both of them less effective. You will also enjoy your free time more if you set a time for it, and fully relax into it. During your study time, keep distractions to a minimum.

8. Take help from your friends.
Study groups are a great way to enhance learning IF the focus stays on topic. You need not always study alone, and in a group setting, you will be exposed to different ways of thinking and working with concepts. As you teach each other, you will learn together, and socialization skills will be enhanced too. You will find some of the best study tips in a group of like-minded students. Especially when a few of you have different study methods to offer.
9. FINAL THOUGHTS
It may seem a bit daunting to go through the process of setting goals and following through with all the ideas above, but if you’re like most students, you will be repaid many times over for your efforts.
Remember- good study tips are only going to help you if you keep using them!
